Inspired by the popular puzzle: find groups of four items that share a hidden historical connection. Ten eras to choose from, from the Revolution to the Civil Rights Movement, each with an Easy and a Hard version.
You'll see 16 people, places, events, and terms in a grid. They secretly belong to four groups of four. Select four tiles you think belong together, then hit Submit.
On the next screen, pick a mode for every puzzle you play. Easy groups are more direct: think "signers," "battles," "amendments." Hard groups cut across categories on purpose, they're built from shared years, nicknames, vocabulary, and specific wording, so a battle, a treaty, and an idea might belong together, and two similar-looking items might belong to different groups entirely.
Once you solve a group, it's revealed in one of four colors, from most straightforward to trickiest:
You get 4 mistakes before the puzzle ends. If you select four tiles and only three belong together, you'll see a "One away..." hint. Watch out for terms that seem to fit more than one group; that overlap is the whole game.
Shuffle rearranges the remaining tiles if the grid gets confusing. Deselect All clears your current picks.
